Intelligence Investigations: A Japanese Perspective

Angelino Schintu CII,

Angelino Schintu is Global Director, Investigations and Intelligence at IMK Group in Japan. His background includes more than 25 years in broadcast journalism and investigative reporting in Australia, United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia.

After years of experience in managing news-gathering teams, the switch to the investigations and intelligence industry was a natural one. Angelino manages investigations utilising assets from all around the globe in a collaborative, intelligence-led process. He is a licenced investigator in Western Australia, and one of very few (if not the only) bilingual Western investigator registered with the National Police Agency to operate in Japan. IMK Group takes on a broad range of investigations and intelligence assignments that come from mostly non-Japanese clients. Regular cases include inquiries into insurance fraud, death claims, locating persons, targeted research, corporate investigations, due diligence, surveillance, process serving etc.

Angelino lives near Tokyo with his wife, Saori, three dogs, and rescue bird – a Sulphur-crested Cockatoo named Roxi. His other passions include cruising into the mountains on his Yamaharley motorbike and creating foods of the world in his kitchen.
